TROPFEST Arabia today announced the names of its 12 finalists, whose films will be competing in Abu Dhabi on November 4th 2011.
The following finalists were independently selected by TROPFEST founder John Polson and TROPFEST Arabia co-director Ahmed Helmy. The finalists were selected by the originality, quality and creativity displayed in each of the films:

One of these films will be selected as the winner of the inaugural TROPFEST Arabia by the celebrity jury, who will watch the films for the first time live with the audience in Abu Dhabi. The jury contains some of the region’s most celebrated filmmakers , with members coming from Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and the UAE.
The finalists will be competing for a variety of fantastic prizes, with the winner receiving $12,500, a trip to LA to meet film executives, and a trip to Australia to be a judge at TROPFEST Australia; the filmmaker in second place will receive $7,500 and an internship with MBC, with third place receiving prize of $5000 and colour grading of their short film at twofour54’s intaj
