Inauguration Of The First Employment E-Fair In The UAE

Abu Dhabi, May 16, 2010 - The events of employment e-fair, organised by Jobs Abu Dhabi - one of the initiatives of Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Centre (ADSIC) - have started this morning, May 16, 2010 and will continue until May 20, in cooperation with Bayt.comBayt.com and the participation of various governmental bodies, private sector and universities in the UAE Emirates such as Emirates Steel industries, HSBC Bank, Ajman University and others.

This e-fair, the first of its kind in the UAE, allows job seekers to register on the site www.abudhabi.ae/efair through any computer with internet access, visit the various sections of the fair to know all about the participant parties, review unique job opportunities, submit a CV and interact with employers in an appropriate manner. Business owners in the UAE can also search for skilled potentials, without being present at a particular place and taking time to attend the fair in person - as is the case in traditional fairs. This will save time, travel expenses and allow both employers and job seekers to communicate via online video conference.

The fair also allows fully secured access to 3-D Virtual Booths reserved for the involved Employers.

Each stand of the participating company will carry the name and the logo of the company, just like any traditional fair. It will also allow access to company specific information including its culture, goals, jobs and procedures for recruitment.

"The Jobs Abu Dhabi Portal was created in October 2008 as part of the e-government programme and in the framework of the strategy of achieving governmental e-services in Abu Dhabi, adopted by ADSIC. Jobs Abu Dhabi became the most important site visited by employers and job seekers in the Abu Dhabi Emirate. In fact the number of visitors reached 1.2 million

from 150 countries worldwide until last March. "Through the e-Fair, hundreds of job opportunities are provided and it is expected to attract more than six thousand job seekers during the days of the event" said HE Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director General of ADSIC.

HE added "By organising this e-fair (www.abudhabi.ae/efair), we aim at increasing the effectiveness of the labour market through innovative methods, in Abu Dhabi in particular and in the other Emirates of UAE in general. It aims to assist the government and private agencies in the employment process, enable the Government of Abu Dhabi to be more effective and efficient in the provision of modern services to the broader society members in accordance with sophisticated innovative solutions provided by modern technology while building social awareness of the benefits of using IT, whether by the government or in other aspects of life, in order to make the lives of citizens and residents of Abu Dhabi much easier."

Rabea Ataya, CEO of Bayt.comBayt.com appreciated the efforts of ADSIC in achieving government services. He expressed happiness for having participated with Jobs Abu Dhabi in organising the fair in order to develop the labour market and facilitate the employment process in the Emirate as well as for business owners who want to recruit the best cadres to hold their career vacancies, through practical, effective and measurable means.
