Host Of Launches At Day Two Of Gitex

Some of the most prestigious technology companies in the world, including Microsoft, Panasonic and Oracle, chose GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK to launch a host of new products in the Middle East and reveal strategies for the coming years.

Microsoft announced that their new set of cloud computing solutions, Office 365 will be available for trials across the region for the first time. The highly anticipated product is targeted at SME’s, which the company says has had neither the time nor resources to embrace cloud to its full potential.

“Office 365 is geared to support emerging economies in the region and accelerate the growth of local innovation industries,” said Samer Abu-Ltaif, Regional General Manager, Microsoft Gulf.

“For us GITEX is the natural choice to launch such a product – it is the most strategic event for us in the region and a measurement of its importance across the industry as a whole”

Panasonic Middle East unveiled for the first time its Home Energy Management System (HEMS) for the Middle East and Africa region.

Panasonic have created an advanced model of a home at their stand and are demonstrating new energy saving devices and proposing new solutions that integrate measures for energy creation, storage and management.

“As a global leader in the electronics industry, it is our duty to ensure a sustainable future, and the home energy management system will help us dramatically reduce the negative impact we are having on our natural world,” commented Masao Motoki, Director System Sales and Marketing Group, Panasonic Marketing Middle East FZE.

It was also an important day for Oracle, who reaffirmed their commitment to Middle East’s businesses by announcing new partnerships across the region including ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company), the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia and a number of Qatar healthcare projects,

Launching brand new products and initiatives with private and public sector partners, emaratech, one of the leading technology solutions companies in the Middle East, revealed four initiatives including ‘Naqoodi’, a new online payment card for all government services and a smart e-gate system, ‘iris gate’, which automatically recognizes airport passengers’ face and eye features  to ensure smoother boarding.
