Qasr Al Watan welcomes cohort from the ‘Journey of the Union’ programme

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 17 December 2019: A cohort of 28 Emirati students from the ‘Journey of the Union’ programme, an initiative under Al Bayt Mitwahid Association (ABM), paid a visit to Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi’s newest cultural landmark, on Monday 16th December and embarked on an insightful journey of the nation’s past, present and future. The guests toured the vast rooms and artistic installations housed in the Palace, whilst also witnessing the creativity of contemporary Arabian architecture. They were also given insight into the story of Qasr Al Watan and its history, in addition to gaining a deep appreciation of Arabian craftsmanship and intellectual heritage throughout an enriching journey.

The group of students from the ‘Journey of the Union’ programme comprised 28 male and female students, with each set of four students representing one of the seven emirates.

The ‘Journey of the Union’ initiative aims to enhance the spirit of Emirati patriotism and leadership, in addition to allowing participants to gain scientific and practical experiences that deepen their knowledge of the heritage of the UAE at various levels. Students are accepted into the programme as a result of their academic excellence in science, social distinction, innovative characteristics, victories in international competitions, and being polylingual.

With Qasr Al Watan’s various tour options offered in multiple languages, there’s something for everyone to explore. The Palace opens seven days a week from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and tickets can be bought daily at the Visitor Centre from 9:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. or online from the official Qasr Al Watan website.
