11th December 2011, Dubai UAE - A young Emirati banker is making headlines as he plans to undertake a charity walkathon for Al Noor Training Centre for children with Special Needs. The mission undertaken by Mr. Nasser Ibrahim this time is one which is tedious, sponsored by RAK Bank, Nasser will be starting his walk on December 15th at 1:00 am from Abu Dhabi Airport and end on December 16th at 4:30 pm at RAK Bank - Emaar Business Park branch, opposite the American University of Dubai (AUD).

This is the young banker’s fifth walkathon for charity and Nasser strongly believes that “it is through such initiatives that we can surely create awareness and educate society to closely look at children with special needs and learn to accept them as equals in society, allowing them to also get involved at par in the society’s development and everyday affairs”.

This walkathon is an initiative undertaken by this young Emirati who will walk more than 36 hours. He hopes to bring attention about path breaking initiatives and drives which are especially formed for parents with children who deserve an equal involvement into regular society.

Al Noor lives up to its name meaning “Light” thus making it a centre where children with special needs are developed with a holistic approach. This walkathon will see close to 150 equally keen walkers and also the children of Al Noor who will join Nasser for the last 1 km, emphasizing the fact of the integration of these children into our society.

Ms. Isphana Al-Khatib, Director, Al Noor Training Centre said, “Nasser is setting an extremely good example by taking action to bring focus on social causes that he feels strongly about. He has sustained this action through the years and we hope more people will follow his example and support our cause. Community awareness is crucial to help us successfully integrate our students into the community.

The money donated will be presented to the Al Noor Training Centre to help the children.
