10Th International Cycling Race Wraps Up Egyptian Stage In Aswan

Abu Dhabi, January 23, 2012: The 10th international cycling race initiated early this month under the patronage of the Egyptian Tourist Authority (ETA) wrapped up today at its final destination in Edfu-Aswan. The event reflected the significant regional role played by Egypt, where it is home of some of the  most important international historical, cultural, art and sports activities along with being a top tourist destination.

Commenting on the event, Head of ETA, Amr El Ezzabi said: “The 10th   International Cycling Race was an important opportunity for Egypt to show its capabilities in hosting international events of this caliber, and in reiterating that it will continue to be a destination for other events of this kind.”

“Egypt is internationally renowned for its hospitality, where it attracts visitors from all over the world to enjoy its breathtaking touristic attractions, shopping, artistic programmes and sporting activities, making it an unforgettable destination of choice,” he added.

The race was composed of  8 stages in different locations.  This stage included 80 racers from all over the world who covered a distance of 1010 km inside Egypt. They will be crossing several African countries, to end up in South Africa after, which will be one hundred days from the initial start of the race which commenced earlier in Europe.
